I'm Back!
WOW! It’s been A W H I L E …. But I’m back!
First off, I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving, with lots of family time and yummy food! We got to spend the holiday with my in-laws and, of course, ate way too much food! And we reminisced on our eventful year!
The past year has been quite the year for us, and a lot has happened to our little family! Since I’ve lasted posted a blog post, we have moved… TWICE from Kentucky to Kanas, and from Kansas to Tennessee! I was pregnant twice, dealt with a loss and also gained a precious baby girl. We are now a family of four and couldn’t be happier with our two fun and wild little girls!! My big girl is now 4, with a smart and fierce personality!! And she started a new school that she absolutely loves. Little bit is almost 1!! She loves being silly and following her big sister around. I can’t believe she’s no longer a baby! But I pray she’ll always be attached to her Mama!
After we moved to Tennessee, we had to put down our sweet dog Bailey. If you know me personally, you know this was really difficult for me. Bailey was 13 years old, she had been through everything with me – to dating many guys she didn’t like, to marrying the man of our dreams, moving across the country, and then moving overseas and back; and I brought two wild little girls back to her house to play with. Earlier this year she became very sick, and her body just couldn’t fight it anymore. I am still grieving for her and there will never be another pup like her. But I find peace in knowing she isn’t in pain anymore. And I am so happy that Madison got to have a relationship with her. We still talk about her, almost daily, and how she is playing with God in Heaven and eating all the cheese and peanut butter her little heart desires!!
Also in the past year, my husband went through another Academic Army school and graduated with a Master’s degree. Once we moved our family to Tennessee, he then underwent Air Assault School where he was tested mentally and physically!! Once he completed the course, he was then sent off for yet another deployment. The girls and I miss him terribly, but we are so incredibly proud of him. He works so hard for himself, for others, and his family. We couldn’t ask for a better Daddy!!
With that being said, deployment is HARD!!!!! We have been through a deployment before, but never with kids. And wow, there is a difference!! Not a difference in me missing him, but solo parenting is not something I ever expected to do. It sure does give me a respect for all the single parents out there! …. I SEE YOU!!! <3
And now after moving into this beautiful house in Tennessee, we are trying to move… again! And yes, while my husband is deployed. Crazy is an understatement!!! And honestly it is a little hard to explain, but in short, we are trying to do a local move to live on the military post here. Who knew dealing with deployment would be so hard?!?!!
Although life is not any less crazy now, I’m ready to continue my love for writing and sharing our crazy life! You’ll be seeing more tips and tricks for on-the-go mamas, easy cooking ideas, and simple style inspiration! And also lots of me in survival mode!!!
I’m excited for you to follow along with me!
