Long Distance Hug
Every year I try to come up with a fun Valentine’s Day craft for the kids, and we typically give it to Daddy since he is our #1 Valentine ♥️
With Daddy being gone this year, I wanted to do something that was special and fun from afar! Madison, my oldest, is always saying she loves her Daddy “this much” like from the book Guess How Much I Love You. So we came up with the long distance hug!!
It’s super simple and easy! Here’s how you do it :
Card stock paper (I used light pink for my oldest and white for my youngest)
You’ll need
Start by painting one hand and placing it on the paper, lightly pressing down. Then repeat with the next hand.
Next is the longest part of the entire craft… wait and let it dry!
While the paint is drying, hold out both arms and measure straight across, fingertip to fingertip, measuring the full width of the arm span. Cut the string accordingly.
Once the paint has dried, cut out the handprints. You can either mount the handprint onto another piece of card stock using craft glue, then cut out that piece as well. Or you can leave it as a single piece of card stock!
Glue your string to the back of the hands, and that is it!! T I P : Use hot glue! It stays better!
Print one of the cards to go along with the handprint(s).

And just like that your Valentine’s Day hug is ready!!
I’m so happy you’re here! I’m a military wife and a mom of two. I love coffee, wine, and Jesus! If you’re looking for creativity and affordable style, then you’re in the right place. I hope to bring you a little bit of joy and laughter as you follow along!
