Easy Toddler Valentine’s Day Gift

This year we are celebrating Valentine’s Day with our closest little friends. We are having lots of yummy snacks and treats, of course, and are having a little gift exchange.

I am always looking for cute and fun ideas that are easy to make and unique. Yes – I could absolutely buy something from the store, and there is nothing wrong with that! On occasion I try to think outside of the box and come up with something fun.

Since most of the kiddos are 2 and 3, and they all LOVE to color, I thought they should

color their hearts out!

Luckily, Madison is still young and not embarrassed of my silly jokes and ideas, and she was excited to help me make this Valentine’s craft.

It is pretty simple to make. You’ll just need a few things:

Start by removing all the paper from the crayons : this was Madison’s favorite part! Then break the crayons up into pieces. The size is not that important – I broke mine into ½” pieces so that I could get more colors into one heart. Add the broken crayons to your heart shaped molds.

Bake on 250°F for 20-30 minutes or until all the crayons have melted.

After you remove from the oven, let the crayons cool completely. I let mine cool in the molds for about an hour or so. I thought they might break if it was still warm!

Now you can make your gift tags. Here is a free download that you can use, or make your own!

Add your cooled crayon hearts to your clear bags [pretty side up] and attach your gift tags with tape or staples.

And that’s it! Now you have a beautiful and fun handmade gift for your kid’s playmates!
